*Correspo tems and Universit gart, Ger E-mail: fo yPresent Untere Se Contract/ GA 1068/ This study provides data for the effect of dietary non-essential amino acid composition on the dC values of individual amino acids in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) using liquid chromatography coupled to isotope ratio mass spectrometry (LC/IRMS). In this experiment, trout were reared either on a control diet or on three experimental diets, differing in the composition of non-essential/conditionally essential amino acids, for a period of 6 weeks. The control diet was a commercial trout starter feed with fish meal as the main protein source. The experimental diets contained no protein, only synthetic amino acids. Diet 1 resembled the composition of fish meal in both essential and non-essential amino acids, Diet 2 had all essential amino acids, but cysteine, glycine, proline and tyrosine were replaced by the corresponding amounts of their precursors, and in Diet 3 all non-essential amino acids were replaced by glutamate. LC/IRMS was used for the determination of dC values of individual amino acids from diets and tissues without derivatization. Diet affected the dC of individual amino acids in fish. For fish on Diets 1–3 amino acid dC values showed a similar trend: phenylalanine showed very little change from diet to body tissue. Arginine, lysine, tyrosine and proline showed strong depletion from diet to body tissue and glycine, alanine, aspartate and serine all showed variable but strong enrichment in C. Improvements are necessary before all amino acid dC values can be determined; however, this study demonstrates that measuring amino acid isotopic signatures by LC/IRMS is a promising new technique for nutritional physiologists. study was undertaken to establish the optimum dietary indispensable amino acid (IAA) profile for yellow fin seabream broodstock based on the amino acid (AA) profile of broodstock, eggs and larvae of Acanthopagrus latus. Three isonitrogenous (40%) and isolipid (20%), named diets 1, 2 and 3 were formulated with different ratios of total essential amino acids per total non-essential amino acid...
متن کاملPollen feeding in the butterfly Heliconius charitonia: isotopic evidence for essential amino acid transfer from pollen to eggs.
Heliconius and Laparus butterflies exhibit a unique pollen-collecting behaviour that enhances lifespan and fecundity. The specific nutritional contribution of pollen, however, had not been previously demonstrated. We used stable isotope variation to trace the carbon flow into eggs from corn pollen provided experimentally to ovipositing female Heliconius charitonia, and to evaluate the use of is...
متن کاملValidated quantitation of underivatized amino acids in human blood samples by volatile ion-pair reversed-phase liquid chromatography coupled to isotope dilution tandem mass spectrometry.
Quantitation of amino acids in complex matrixes without derivatization is advantageous; however, difficulties exist in both the separation and the detection of those compounds. A validated method that is based on the use of volatile ion-pair liquid chromatography coupled to stable isotope dilution tandem mass spectrometry has been developed for the simple and accurate quantitation of underivati...

Abstract The present study aims at the identification and investigation of fatty acid and amino acid profiles in male and female Liza aurata in the southern part of the Caspian Sea, in reproductive (autumn) and non-reproductive (spring) seasons. The results showed difference between the total fatty acids levels in the sexes. Analyses of fatty acids indicated a higher percentage of C16:0, C...

Introduction: Cereal straws contain Cellulose, Hemicelluloses and Lignin and are most available renewable biopolymers. White rot fungi is used to convert these wastes into microbial protein. Pleurotus Florida are having the most delignification ability amongst other micro-organisms. We determined the amounts of protein, essential and non essential amino acids of the produced microbial protein f...
